Debbie Skaug for Nampa City Council On The Issues

Serving on the Nampa City Council is an important responsibility, and I respect those who take on the role. However, I oppose the recent large pay raises for the mayor and council members—especially at a time when property taxes are increasing.

A 73% raise for council members and a 22% raise for the mayor are inappropriate at a time when Nampa’s budget is already strained.

I appreciate the members of the council who stood against this raise. If elected, I will make the motion to rescind the mayor and council raises.

Prioritizing the protection of citizens by supporting law enforcement, crime prevention programs, and emergency response services. Debbie fully "backs the blue" within the boundaries of the U.S. Constitution.

It's no secret Nampa has been discovered. Debbie will work to manage growth responsibly by balancing private property rights with Nampa's comprehensive plan.

Advocating for reduced government spending and Lower taxes. Debbie is a proponent for zero based budgeting. Debbie will be a defender of the taxpayer on items large and small.
